Corbin Burnes Going for Second Opinion
Corbin Burnes (elbow) is going for a second opinion on his injured right elbow on Thursday or Friday after initial tests were inconclusive, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro. Burnes left his last start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning in a good amount of pain, leading many to believe he had just suffered a season-ending elbow injury. That could still be the case, but we'll know more by this weekend. Either way, the 30-year-old veteran will almost certainly land on the 15-day injured list and could miss extensive time if he avoids a season-ending injury. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues shouldn't outright drop the D-backs ace until we know more about the severity of his elbow injury. Arizona already has Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) on the IL, but he's expected to rejoin the rotation next week.
