Christian Walker Reaches Double-Digit Homers on Tuesday
Christian Walker smacked his 10th home run of the season on Tuesday in the Astros' 13-3 victory over the Athletics. The home run came in the fifth inning, with the Astros already leading 5-0, and it helped extend their lead as they went on to win easily. In addition to the home run, Walker finished the evening going 2-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, and a walk. It's been a real struggle for Walker with his new environment, coming over from the Arizona Diamondbacks in the off-season, but over the past seven days, he is slashing .292/.370/.583 with two home runs, six RBI, and five runs scored. On the season, he still holds a poor batting average of .216/.282/.371 slash line, but he is a career .247 hitter, so it's fair to think he may be in line for a big second half. Until then, he remains a low-end first baseman to roster from a fantasy perspective.
