Chiefs Stripping Down Playbook In Week 17
12 months agoThe Kansas City Chiefs are in a rare offensive slump, and sources say they have whittled down their normal game plan from head coach Andy Reid's massive playbook for their Week 17 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. It will mean fewer plays, fewer personnel packages and most likely fewer players getting their hands on the football. The idea is to focus on what quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Company do best, spending less time shuttling players on and off the field and allowing everyone to play faster. KC's defense has emerged as its strength this year, with the offense ranking ninth in total yards and 11th in scoring. Since their bye, the Chiefs have lost four of six games. They'll have a good opportunity to bounce back on Sunday against a very beatable Cincy defense.
