NASCAR's most popular driver will be back in action at Martinsville Speedway this weekend, as Chase Elliott (leg) announced Wednesday that he has been medically cleared to return to racing. Elliott broke his leg in a snowboarding accident back in March before the third race of the season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He has missed the six Cup Series races due to the surgery after the accident. As far as expectations for Martinsville, it's hard to tell how the injury will affect Elliott, but this is a very good race track for him. He won here back in 2020 and has finished first or second in each of the last six stages at Martinsville. Additionally, his career average driver rating of 102.2 at this track is second-best among all active drivers.--Jordan McAbee
