Carson Young has had a rocky start to 2025 with finishes of T29 at The American Express and a missed cut at the Sony Open. However, he currently ranks 25th in strokes gained off the tee and 15th in strokes gained on approach. His biggest challenge at the Farmers Insurance Open will be hitting long drives and approaching from over 200 yards, two metrics that will be heavily tested this week. In 2024, Young ranked 136th in driving distance and was in the 42nd percentile for greens in regulation from over 200 yards over the last 12 months. Young has also played this event twice, finishing with a missed cut in 2023 and a T56 in 2024.
