Carson Williams Goes Deep for 10th Time on Sunday
Carson Williams smacked a three-run home run on Sunday at Triple-A Durham in a 1-for-4 night at the plate. Unfortunately, the other three plate appearances resulted in a strikeout, wrapping up another tough week for the Rays' top-ranked prospect after going 3-for-19 (.158) over six games. The 21-year-old is now slashing .158/.273/.316 in 2025, with 10 home runs but a 34.8 percent strikeout rate and a 17.1 swinging-strike rate. While the former first-rounder makes loud contact when he puts the bat on the ball, one would figure his ability to do just that would only get harder at the big league level. The 6-foot-2 slugger was expected to make a debut for the Rays this season, but he's going to need to turn it around soon for that timeline to hold true.
