The Arizona Cardinals released left tackle D.J. Humphries (knee) on Wednesday after he spent nine seasons with the team. Humphries tore his ACL against the Philadelphia Eagles on New Year's Eve and certainly won't be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign this fall. The former first-round pick (24th overall) in 2015 out of Florida was set to carry a $22.9 million salary cap number this year, so the Cardinals decided to move on. He started all 98 games in which he appeared for the Cardinals after missing all of his rookie season. Injuries have been a big part of Humphries' career in the NFL, though, and his latest knee injury puts his future in doubt as a free agent. Cutting Humphries will save around $9 million in cap space in 2024 while the team takes on $13 million in dead-cap space.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
