5 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (foot) could travel with the team to San Francisco this week, but Newton has yet to practice this week and won't be active. The Panthers announced that Kyle Allen would make another start against the 49ers earlier this week, and Newton must return to practice soon if he has any hope of playing in Week 9 against the Titans. Keep Newton stashed in all formats, but it remains to be seen if he'll start over Allen -- who is undefeated this year -- when he's fully healthy. Allen has been more of a game-manager type, but he is taking care of the football and putting the team in good situations. He's not a recommended QB2 in a tough matchup with San Fran on the road this Sunday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
