Cam Newton A Long Shot To Play In Week 5?
4 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton hasn't shown any symptoms after testing positive for COVID-19 last weekend, but that doesn't mean that he won't experience some symptoms in the next couple days. Newton could have a chance to play this Sunday against the Broncos if he returns two negative tests within a 24-hour span, but that's a big if right now. The 31-year-old sat out of the Week 4 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night and would have QB1 upside if he plays against a Broncos Defense that has been decimated by injuries. If Newton misses a second straight game, it'll likely be Jarrett Stidham, who took over for an ineffective Brian Hoyer on Monday, getting the start against Denver. Stidham threw two interceptions himself against KC, which would make him a low-end QB2 streamer in superflex leagues.
