4 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers (shoulder) was a full practice participant on Wednesday and was taken off the final injury report for Thursday night against the Patriots. Akers had a season-high 21 carries for 72 rushing yards and his second touchdown of the season and second in as many weeks in the win over the Cardinals. The second-round pick out of Florida State got off to a slow start in this crowded backfield, but it appears that he has taken over with just four games remaining in the regular season. The Patriots have been stingy to the running back position in the last five weeks, allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game, but Akers is the best fantasy back for the Rams and should be considered a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex for Thursday's battle with New England.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
