Cam Akers May Stick Around In LA
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams tried and failed to trade running back Cam Akers earlier this year after a mutual disagreement about his role. But he eventually returned, and the Rams cut Darrell Henderson Jr. Akers has rushed for 4.4 yards per carry and six touchdowns in December as he and head coach Sean McVay have renewed their commitment publicly. The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue thinks the Rams would like to keep Akers heading into next season. Kyren Williams is still developing and complements Akers well. The team could still draft a RB, but Akers will actually be a restricted free agent in 2024. Akers has 285 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the last four games, re-emerging on the fantasy map as an RB2 to close out the season.
