Los Angeles Kings goaltender Cal Petersen will be up against the Vegas Golden Knights in the team's season opener on Thursday. The Kings crease has belonged to Jonathan Quick for many years, but Petersen ended up getting more starts than him in 2020-21 and the 26-year-old is also the preferred choice at the start of the new campaign. He won just nine of 35 appearances last season but had a decent .911 save percentage and his goals-against average at 2.89 wasn't too bad either considering the situation. The Kings have added some quality over the offseason, so expect Petersen to get a lot more wins, however, starting off with the right foot will be tough against a top-class Vegas squad. The Knights go with Robin Lehner, who started his campaign with a 28-save effort and a 4-3 win over Seattle on Tuesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
