Los Angeles Kings rookie goaltender Cal Petersen turned aside all 29 shots he faced in just his third NHL start on Monday night to pick up his first-career shutout in a 2-0 win at St. Louis. The rookie managed a combined 20 shutouts during his college career at Notre Dame and his run in the minors. The Iowa native is holding down the fort with Jonathan Quick and Jack Campbell on the shelf and veteran Peter Budaj struggling. Petersen might get another nod in the blue ice on Wednesday night at home against the Colorado Avalanche.--Daniel Dobish
