Broncos Sticking By Russell Wilson, Nathaniel Hackett
2 years agoDespite a disappointing 2-5 start to the season, Denver Broncos general manager George Paton said quarterback Russell Wilson and head coach Nathaniel Hackett have his full support. "I believe in Nathaniel," Paton said Thursday. "I support Nathaniel 100 percent. He's been in this for seven games as a head coach. The scrutiny he's faced is unprecedented." Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler, currently has career-lows in completion percentage, touchdown-to-interception ratio, passer rating and win-loss record. Paton thinks Wilson and the offense will continue to improve with time, and the team plans to give Wilson plenty of time to get out of his funk. "I'm not concerned. We're in it for the long haul with Russ, not the first seven games," Paton said. "We believe in Russ, and I believe in Russ." Wilson will try to snap out of his funk in the Week 8 game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
