Brock Purdy Throws Three Touchdowns
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy completed 15 of 20 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the Niners' 38-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals. His 141.2 passer rating was his highest yet, as were his three touchdowns passes. The 49ers head into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams, having won seven straight -- five of them by two scores. Purdy was under center for six of those games. With a 67.1% completion percentage, 1,374 yards, 13 touchdowns and just four interceptions, Purdy, who was drafted with the final pick of the seventh round, had the best season of any rookie quarterback and set the Niners team record for passing touchdowns as a rookie. Yet his status for next season, as well as for the playoffs, remains uncertain. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has said Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) could be available in time for the NFC Championship game. Trey Lance (ankle), who the Niners picked No. 3 in the 2021 draft and who was the starting quarterback before injuring his ankle in Week 2, should be back for workouts this offseason.
