Brock Purdy's Status To Be Determined On Thursday
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (oblique, ribs) has been limited at practice, but he says he "feels good." He does not have an official injury designation as of Wednesday afternoon ahead of a Thursday night game, and head coach Kyle Shanahan says, "It will probably be on Thursday where we have the best chance to know." After finishing as the QB8 in his first start, the 22-year-old would face the Seattle Seahawks, a slightly below-average pass defense, if healthy. The Seahawks rank No. 18 in passing yards per game allowed, No. 19 in completion percentage and No. 19 in yards per pass attempt allowed. By those metrics, the Seahawks are worse at defending the pass than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, against whom Purdy completed 76.2% of his passes and gained 8.8 yards per attempt. The 49ers will be without receiver Deebo Samuel, who injured his ankle last week, but they have enough weapons that Purdy should still be able to put up low-end QB1 numbers if he is able to go.
