Bears Defense Needs New Coach After Chuck Pagano Retires
4 years agoChicago Bears defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano has decided to retire, according to sources. The 60-year-old was the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts for six seasons and returned to the sidelines as the defensive coordinator for Chicago in 2019 while replacing Vic Fangio. Pagano led a Bears Defense that allowed 20.9 points per game in his two seasons, which was sixth in the NFL in that span. He began his coaching career in the NFL in 2001 as a secondary coach for the Cleveland Browns, and he spent time with the Raiders and Ravens before joining the Colts. The Bears went 8-8 in 2020 and earned the seventh and final playoff seed in the NFC before losing to the Saints on wild-card weekend. Even though they don't have a leader right now, the Bears defense should be on the fantasy map again in 2021.
