Austin Hooper Ruled Out Due To Appendicitis
4 years agoCleveland Browns tight end Austin Hooper is having surgery on Friday for appendicitis and has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Bengals, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. It's a tough break for Hooper, as he was just starting to heat up in Cleveland's offense after a slow start to the 2020 campaign. The former Falcon led the Browns in receiving in the Week 6 blowout loss to the Steelers, catching five of his six targets for 52 yards. Make sure you remove Hooper from your weekly lineups. His absence should mean more targets for receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. David Njoku, who has just five catches for 63 yards and a score in three games, should operate as the top receiving tight end with Hooper out. He'll make for a sneaky streaming option against a Cincy defense allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing TEs.
