Aric Almirola Leads Most Laps, Finishes Third At Pocono
4 years agoStewart-Haas Racing's Aric Almirola started from the pole and finished third in Saturday's Pocono Organics 325 at Pocono Raceway. Almirola, who had struggled at Pocono in the past, lead a race-high 61 laps. Almirola was possibly on his way to taking a trip to victory lane, when teammate, Kevin Harvick, took two tires on the final pit stop and leapfrogged him. The No. 10 team has been building momentum with three top-five finishes in a row, and Almirola's performance was by far his best at Pocono. Starting from the pole, Almirola had the advantage of clean air. Almirola will roll off from the 18th starting spot in Sunday's Pocono 350, and it will be interesting to see if Almirola can climb through the field, or if clean air was a factor of his great run. However, Almirola is super cheap in DFS, for race two, and will be a popular lineup choice.
