Antonio Gibson Diagnosed With Turf Toe
4 years agoWashington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (toe) was diagnosed with a painful case of turf toe, which may cause him to miss the Week 14 game against the 49ers, according to a source. Gibson's status is in doubt, and he'll be evaluated as the week progresses. Turf-toe injuries can often linger for weeks, so there's no guarantee that the 22-year-old rookie will even be ready for Week 15, either. If he cannot go this weekend, it will increase the value of both Peyton Barber and J.D. McKissic in Washington's backfield. McKissic will be the better RB3/flex option in PPR leagues after he caught all 10 of his targets for 70 yards in the Monday night win over Pittsburgh. Barber will be used on early downs after he ran the ball 14 times for 23 yards and a touchdown in Week 13. Keep an eye on Gibson's practice statuses this week, but fantasy managers should be making backup plans already.
