Antonio Brown, Antoine Winfield Jr. Getting Closer
4 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown (knee) and rookie safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle) are "getting close" to being able to suit up in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 7. Brown was listed as doubtful last Friday, while Winfield received a questionable tag ahead of the Super Bowl. It's too early to tell if safety Jordan Whitehead (knee, shoulder), who is doubtful, will be able to play. All three players were inactive in the win over the Packers in the NFC Championship game. Brown and Winfield were expected to play early last week, but the fact that neither player practiced all of last week put their statuses in question. Barring setbacks, it sounds like they'll be active, but Brown's injury will make him a shaky DFS play as the third wideout behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Scotty Miller and rookie Tyler Johnson took on expanded roles with Brown out in the NFC Championship.
