Anthony Volpe Hits Sixth Home Run Of The Season
Anthony Volpe added a couple of insurance runs in the team's 11-5 win with a ninth-inning home run against relief pitcher Troy Taylor in Seattle on Monday. Volpe went 2-for-3 with two walks and raised his batting average to .245 on the season. Over his last 15 games, the 24-year-old shortstop is hitting .321 with six doubles, a home run, and a .405 wOBA. He has turned things around after a slow start and should continue to be a solid shortstop option while getting good playing time in a productive Yankees' offense. His numbers haven't been elite, but they have been serviceable and are now trending in the right direction.
