Anibal Sanchez To Throw For Teams Saturday
Anibal Sanchez will throw a bullpen for select teams in Miami on Saturday. Sanchez threw for scouts in the offseason, but it never amounted to a deal with a club. The 37-year-old right-hander became a free agent when the Washington Nationals declined his $12 million option for the 2021 season. He'll have to prove himself after posting an ugly 6.62 ERA over 11 starts in the shortened 2020 season with Washington, but there are plenty of teams that could use an accomplished major league pitcher, at least for rotation depth. Sanchez has a mediocre 8.0 K/9 in his career and won't be blowing hitters away at this point in his career, but he could be an innings-eater for a club in need of starting help. Fantasy managers shouldn't be interested.
