Alex Ovechkin Buries Two More Sunday
9 months agoWashington Capitals left winger Alex Ovechkin scored two more goals as part of a 3-0 win over the visiting Winnipeg Jets on Sunday afternoon. The superstar struck twice in the third period to solidify the victory as he remains white-hot after what had largely been a down season by his lofty standards. Ovechkin now has an eye-popping eight goals over his last five games and is now up to 26 on the season after scoring 18 goals over the first 66 games of the season. The 38-year-old has 58 points in 67 games on the season and is willing his team toward a postseason berth as the Capitals now sit in the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of the Detroit Red Wings with the Capitals boasting a game in hand.
