Alex Bregman Now Leads Astros With 21 Home Runs
6 years agoHouston Astros infielder Alex Bregman now leads the team in home runs (21), RBI (68) and slugging percentage (.533) heading into Friday's action against the Rangers. Bregman has emerged as a true star this season and currently is slashing .305/.425/.597 in the month of July and is slugging .661 over his last 15 games. The 24-year-old has been one of the most consistent offensive players on the team this season, especially with the recent news of Jose Altuve's sore knee, George Springer's two-month slump and Carlos Correa's back issues. Bregman is also one of the most dangerous hitters with runners in scoring position this season, slashing .376/.481/.718 with 16 extra-base hits through 85 at-bats. Since the second half of last season, Bregman is now hitting .304 with five triples, 32 home runs, 51 doubles, 112 runs batted in and 118 runs scored over his last 172 games played.
