Aaron Glenn To Become Lions Defensive Coordinator
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints secondary coach Aaron Glenn is headed to the Detroit Lions as their next defensive coordinator, according to sources. The two sides are closing in on a deal on Tuesday. Glenn will join Dan Campbell in Detroit after the two worked together in New Orleans. The former Pro Bowl cornerback played 15 seasons in the NFL from 1994 to 2008 and produced an impressive 41 interceptions in his career. Glenn served as a pro scout for the Jets in 2012 and then moved to Cleveland in 2014-15 as the team's assistant secondary coach. He then became the Saints defensive backs coach in 2016. New Orleans' pass defense ranked fifth in yards allowed per game (217), sixth in yards allowed per pass play (6.7), fourth in interception rate (3.23 percent) and second in completion percentage allowed (59.8 percent) under Glenn.
