BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 43% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Atlanta moved closer to an even record after defeating Chicago on Sunday, sitting now at 5-6 through Week 11. Marcus Mariota, for the seventh week in a row, entered the QB2 realm and finished inside the top-15 quarterbacks of the week for the second game running on top of that.
Mariota is more often a QB2 than a QB1 although he's shown that ceiling at different points through the season, scattering such performances over the year: W1, W5, W6, and W8. He's not put on back-to-back top-15 outings to the tune of 18.7 FP in Week 10 and 17.7 FP last Sunday facing the Bears.
The veteran quarterback threw only 20 passes of just 13 ended in completions. He racked up 131 passing yards and one touchdown avoiding getting picked. That was definitely not remotely close to a great passing game, but Mariota comes with the bonus of having rushing upside: 25 yards on 13 carries (season-high) scoring a touchdown on the ground.
It was Mariota's fourth rushing TD of the season and the seventh game in a row rushing for 24+ yards getting all the way back to Week 5. Mariota has yet to complete more than 21 passes in a single game and has thrown for more than 230 yards only once this season.
There are no byes on Thanksgiving Week so there might not be a lot of demand for second-tier quarterbacks, but with a few injured QBs out there and Mariota showing steady top-15 levels of play of late, he's worth considering for those in slightly deeper leagues, let alone 2QB/Superflex leagues.
