BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 13% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: A little over two weeks ago, before the start of the regular season, there were serious questions about Logan Thomas' availability and fitness for the Commanders' first game of the season. Thomas was tagged as questionable leading up to the game but ultimately played and appeared in 64% of all Washington snaps. He raised that bar up to 70% this past weekend, and that figure will end approaching 100% as the season progresses. Once he overcomes that hurdle, it will only be goodies in bunches for fantasy GMs in possession of Thomas' shares.
If you remember, Thomas only played six games last season (none between W5-W11, and none after W13). He put up 6.1+ PPR points in each of those, and 9.5+ in four with three weeks of 12+ fantasy points. He finished 2021 with an average of 8.9 FPPG and a volatility of just 4.7 FPPG between games, the lowest among TEs with an average of 9+ PPR per game.
Thomas has hit the ground running this season, and although his Week 1 was a low scoring one (7.5 PPR), the truth is that all things considered and given where he's coming from that was far from a bad day at the office. Thomas played to his real capacity last Sunday, though, finishing the weekend with a top-7 score among TEs (12.7 PPR) thanks to hauling in three of his five targets for 37 yards and a touchdown, his first of the year.
We could say that Thomas is still playing preseason football as he missed all games from W14 on last season and didn't get to the field in the actual 2022 preseason. He will ramp up his activity and his snaps played as we get deeper into the season.
Thomas had an ADP of 78.5 OVR and TE7 just one year ago. Now, all of the sudden, fantasy GMs seem to have forgotten about this man. Don't let him slip through the cracks and get yourself a ROS-starter from WW. He's more than a capable player at the position and should be rostered in all leagues while starting in most of them.
