BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 40% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Vikings entered Sunday knowing top-wideout Adam Thielen was going to be out. The Panthers already knew, too, so it was pretty clear that most of the offense would be geared toward running with Cook and passing the ball to rookie Justin Jefferson. Turned out, Cook put up a dud. But Kirk Cousins not only did more than enough to connect with Jefferson but the rest of the offensive corps too to complete a great game and hand Minny another W on the season.
I get that Cousins is not the most appealing of quarterbacks, nor is he in the most QB-friendly offense of the league. That being said, though, Cousins has not upset his fantasy GMs almost at all this season, with nine of his 11 games played finishing above 14 FP (and another one with 10.4 FP). Cousins is not going to attempt 40 passes a game, and it is hard for him to reach 300 yards, but he's efficient as hell and he's strung four games scoring 18+ FP with three of those four going for 20+ fantasy points.
Just this past Sunday, without his top weapon in Adam Thielen, Cousins posted his best game of the season completing 34 of 45 passes for 307 yards, three TDs, and no interceptions against. It's the second game in a row Cousins has avoided getting picked off, and that makes it four in five weeks he's done so going back to Week 8.
Still available in 60% of Yahoo leagues, Cousins has been a QB1 in the last three weeks, and a QB2 in all slates he's played going back to Week 3 included. Cousins is basically the best QB2 out there and clearly carries QB1 upside weekly. Make sure to target and add/stream Cousins for at least the next two games, as Minny faces the third and eighth-worst defenses against fantasy QBs in W13 and W14.
