BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB4
ANALYSIS: Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill has never been a consistent fantasy football asset. The veteran running back has had a few short stretches of success but never puts together a full year’s work of fantasy production. He is the RB53 for the season, averaging 4.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Unfortunately, rookie star running back Keaton Mitchell suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He joins J.K. Dobbins on injured reserve with season-ending injuries.
With Mitchell out for the year, Hill will be the new backup running back on the depth chart behind Gus Edwards. Will that mean he sees enough volume to have consistent fantasy value? Don’t count on it.
Hill has had more than eight rushing attempts in only two games this season. He has scored fewer than 7.6 fantasy points in 84.6% of the games, including nine straight.
The veteran running back faces the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. The NFC West division leaders have held running backs to only 16.1 fantasy points per game, the seventh-fewest in the NFL. While he could see more touches moving forward with Mitchell out for the year, Hill lacks the fantasy appeal to belong in lineups this week.
