Joe Mixon's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 18 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Joe Mixon for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has had an impressive 2023 season. The veteran running back is the RB7 for the year, averaging 13.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has been outstanding since Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury in Week 11, totaling 13.6 or more fantasy points in 71.4% of the contests, including last week.
Mixon missed practice today due to an illness. While he should be ready to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, fantasy players should wonder if the star running back will get his typical workload.
The Bengals were eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs last week. They also face a Browns team with nothing to play for this week. Cincinnati might hand rookie running back Chase Brown more touches on Sunday, giving Mixon a lighter workload after he has averaged 18.4 touches per game in 2023.
Meanwhile, Cleveland has held running backs to zero rushing touchdowns over the past three weeks. Fantasy players in season-long leagues should be nervous starting Mixon, given his Bengals’ situation. DFS players should target Brown over Mixon in tournament lineups on Sunday.

The quarterback position is ironically one of the most forgiving position in fantasy football in that you can draft a serious under-performer and still be fine.
