Jayden Reed fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 8 (2024). Should you start or sit Jayden Reed for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2/WR3
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (ankle) was off to a dominant start to 2024 when his starting quarterback, Jordan Love, was throwing the ball to him. He's still the WR7 in full-PPR scoring, but he caught just two passes for ten yards in Week 7.
Thought this was a really insightful note from @FFHitman
Jayden Reed’s 2024 data if Week 1 is removed:
- 12.7 PPR per game (WR26)
- 20.5% target per route run rate (37th out of 83 qualified WRs)
- 7.1% first down per route run (WR43)
- 2.01 yards per route run (WR22) pic.twitter.com/wHo8oD4h7H

His monster Week 1 has yet to be replicated, and he played through an ankle injury last week. If it's still bothering him, he's more of a WR3/FLEX. He hasn't had more than eight targets this season, and that was in a shootout game with the Minnesota Vikings, where the Packers ran a massive number of passing plays.
Aside from that game, he hasn't had more than six targets in a contest yet. It will be difficult for him to have such great numbers consistently until he's healthy and starts getting more volume. However, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur runs a system that spreads the ball around heavily.
Jordan Love is spreading the ball around as evenly and fairly as any quarterback possibly could. The breakdown of targets among options 1-4 is extremely even pic.twitter.com/GH6l27NNp7

Reed has been very efficient with his touches when healthy and has some nice rushing upside, which puts him at WR2 status when he's recovered. He should be started for his upside this week -- he's facing one of the NFL's worst pass defenses in the Jacksonville Jaguars.
