BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 13% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: On this very Tuesday I'm glad I'm able to proclaim Jakobi Meyers as the latest New England's real deal, folks. It's happening. Since the Patriots lost both Julian Edelman and N'Keal Harry to injury a few weeks ago, Meyers has eaten all he's been able to indulge, and then some. It all started in Week 7, and it's now been three booming weeks in a row for Meyers. Jump aboard Jakobi's training before it's too late!
Meyers played all of 22 snaps combined through Week 3 of the season and didn't touch a football field again until Week 7. Starting then, he has played 41, 64, and 80 snaps for shares of 79%, 98%, and 99%. That is, simply put, insane. The Patriots offense under Cam Newton hasn't been 1) any good and 2) a pass-happy one, but Meyers has excelled in his time as the WR1 of the team.
In just three games Meyers has racked up 287 receiving yards and 52.9 PPR points. He's the WR9 of the past three weeks, and one of only five receivers with at least that number of yards and fantasy points in that span. Bonkers.
Even more impressive is the fact that Meyers has only kept improving on a weekly basis. He's gone from 10.2 to 13.8 to a massive--WR4 in Week 9--28.9 points. He's gone from 4 to 6 to 10 receptions. He's gone from 6 to 10 to 14 targets. He's gone from 60 to 58 to 169 yards. The only thing missing in Meyers' game logs are touchdowns, as he has yet to score his first.
With the Pats already past their bye week, Meyers should at least be a more-than-capable FLEX play ROS. He's the main target of Newton, racks up receptions, and although Baltimore comes next (worth avoiding that defense), New England will then go on a trip to face the 26th, 16th, and 10th teams at preventing WR fantasy points. Add Meyers in every deeper format and make him an insta-starter, and also consider streaming him as a WR3/FLEX option in any other shallower league with upside to finish as a WR2 on spot starts.
