ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins has been pretty boom-or-bust through seven weeks. He has games of 18.2, 20.1, and 22.9 PPR fantasy points to go along with weeks scoring just 8.4, 9.2, and 9.6. He's the clear lead back for his team and getting workhorse usage, but it hasn't always translated to high-scoring contests.

Many projected that he would have a huge day in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, but he was disappointed with just 2.9 yards per carry. There are interesting theories floating around about the night-and-day splits in his play, but his history of severe injuries could have something to do with it.

Running backs returning from Achilles' tendon injuries tend to have rough seasons when they initially return. Dobbins could experience that after playing in consecutive weeks.
I don’t understand why anyone could claim that he won’t be at this point.
JK Dobbins saw the typical metric regression (across the board.. every single item) that we see after initial return from Achilles from Wks1-2 to Wks3-4.

He should still be started in Week 8 because he plays the New Orleans Saints, and they haven't been able to stop any running backs in the past few weeks. They got demolished by the likes of Sean Tucker and Javonte Williams. They basically refuse to tackle. So lock No. 27 into your starting lineups this week.
