Fantasy College Football CFB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (9/11/17)

Call this week a washout.

No, not just because a few games had to be cancelled or postponed due to Hurricane Irma (thoughts are with you, friends in Florida), but because most of the big teams faced rather small opponents. Alabama took on Fresno State... Wisconsin "battled" Florida Atlantic...

However, those teams that did take on challenges this week reaped the benefits--at least in the Rotoballer rankings.

See for yourselves. Here's our Top 10 after Week Two, as of September 11, 2017 (with won-loss records in parentheses).

NCAA College Football (CBB) Rankings

1. Alabama, (2-0)

Sure, QB Jalen Hurts was most of the offense for the Tide this week, but what impresses us most is the stable of running backs at Nick Saban's disposal. This week, Najee Harris (13 carries, 70 yards) got the bulk of the work.

2. Penn State, (2-0)

And to think Joe Paterno wouldn't schedule Pitt because he was afraid his Nittany Lions would lose to them. Or at least that's what they say in Pittsburgh. What we say is that "Say-Say" Barkley (88 yards rushing, 45 yards receiving, 2 TDs) is the man.

3. Oklahoma, (2-0)

Questions were asked, and the Sooners answered them. So too did QB Baker Mayfield (27/35, 386 yards, 3 TDs). So is Lincoln Riley that good or...

4. USC, (2-0)

The Trojans were among the few (the proud?) to take on a tough opponent this week, and it was their Pac-12 opener no less, against Stanford. QB Sam Darnold was better, but freshman running back Stephen Carr was best, finishing with 119 yards on 11 carries. This is a school with a history of producing great backs, so Carr could be for real.

5. Clemson, (2-0)

Auburn may or may not be Auburn, but they are still Auburn. Wait... what? Our point is that Clemson could have scheduled Akron. They didn't, and instead dominated an SEC opponent with a stout defensive performance, led by senior linebacker Dorian O'Daniel, who had 14 total tackles and 1.5 sacks on the day.

6. Florida State, (0-1)

Storms a' brewin' in FLA, and we feel that the Sunshine State is taking enough punishment, so we won't mark their team (or one of their teams) down for not playing. Seriously, though, stay safe, Seminoles--and everyone else. We'll see what Jimbo Fischer's team has in due time.

7. Washington, (2-0)

Another week, another chance to pad the stats for QB Jake Browning (259 passing yards, 2 TDs) and the Huskies, who took on 1-AA (we're old school) giants Montana on Saturday. We like the Huskies, but their schedule-makers? Not so much.

8. Wisconsin, (2-0)

The Badgers battled a bit too much with Florida Atlantic for our liking, but another freshman running back, Jonathan Taylor, sure was impressive (223 yards, 26 carries, 3 TDs). But is he ready for Big 10? More importantly, are the Badgers?

9. Oklahoma State, (2-0)

We thought about going with Michigan somewhere in here, but we still like the 'Pokes too much to drop 'em. QB Mason Rudolph (335 yards, 3 TDs) had another big day but OSU's in-state rival has raised the bar pretty high for the Big 12. We'll see if Rudolph and his mates can get there.

10. Ohio State, (1-1)

Buckeyes fans aren't going to like this but we're really kicking ourselves for not going with Michigan, even as we type this. But there's something about Urban Meyer that makes us think the Big 10 title is his to lose.
