FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (9/11/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Kyle Ringstad highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 9/11/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's a manageable little eight-gamer over on FanDuel tonight, and it's one with plenty of options at pitcher. Castillo, Buehler, Cease, Morton, and Garcia are all intriguing arms at the top, and the lack of confident dart-throws behind them means we'll likely have to spend up at pitcher. There are currently only two teams projecting to score over five runs tonight - the Astros and White Sox - so we'll need to get creative with our position picks and potential stacks tonight. Let's get to it.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 9/11/2021. You can see our DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineup pick for the early slate here as well.

Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game / GPP Anchor Play:

Charlie Morton - ATL vs. MIA ($9,000)

Morton has the second-best numbers on the slate behind Walker Buehler, and you can get him at just the fourth-highest salary despite an incredible matchup against The Fish. Morton's rocking a tidy 29% K% to go along with a low .201 BAA, 3.47 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 3.29 FIP, 3.24 xFIP, and 3.51 SIERA. He also does a great job of limiting hard contact and barrels as his primary pitch, the curveball, has been close to unhittable this season (.119 AVG, .180 SLG over 110 batted ball events). The Marlins have an unintimidating lineup that strikes out at the fourth-highest rate (25.5%) and holds the second-lowest ISO (.136) vs. RHP. Morton's going to crush value tonight.

Cash Game / GPP Alternate Play(s)

Walker Buehler - LAD vs. SDP ($9,700)

Buehler is the top pitcher on the slate, and it's not particularly close. He had his worst outing of the season in his last start, allowing six earned runs and striking out just one over three innings against the Giants. This will just serve to keep his rostership in check, as will the matchup against the much-feared Padres. Don't be afraid to target the young ace here, though. He has been mostly fantastic this season (.191 BAA, 2.31 ERA ,0.94 WHIP, 3.18 FIP, 26% K%) and he just posted 48 FD points against this team on 8/25. He's one of the few SP's to have 50+ FD point upside, so snag him and figure out how to squeeze in as much offense as you can.

Others: Corey Kluber (vs. NYM), Dylan Cease (vs. BOS), Luis Garcia (vs. LAA)

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Freddie Freeman - 1B, ATL vs. MIA ($3,800)

Opposing pitcher Elieser Hernandez has been OK overall, but he has been allowing a lot of runs (nine) and homers (five) over his last three starts. He also has a clear weakness against LHH both throughout his MLB career and this season, as he's holding a 5.19 ERA vs. LHH in 2021 (2.40 vs. RHH). Enter the left-handed hitting Freeman, who holds a .940 OPS with 22 homers vs. RHP this season. He's a top pay-up option tonight.

Alex Bregman - 3B, HOU vs. LAA ($3,200)

Bregman has been absolutely rocking lately with 34.7, 18.7, and 32.4 FD points over his last three games played. His salary hasn't yet been adjusted, so take advantage of the value while you can. Opposing pitcher Jose Suarez has been better-than-expected, but Bregman just crushes LHP to the tune of a .943 OPS this season and his form is too good to pass up on.

Luis Arraez - 2B, MIN vs. KCR ($2,400)

Arraez is much more a cash game play as he's not ever going to hit for power, but he is among the best in the MLB at putting the ball in play as he holds a 95th-percentile xBA, 99th-percentile K%, and 100th-percentile Whiff%. He can, and should, get on base and do some damage against Brady Singer and the Royals bullpen tonight.

Others: Jose Altuve (vs. LAA), Nick Gordon (vs. KCR), Cody Bellinger (vs. SDP), Paul DeJong (vs. CIN)

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU vs. LAA ($3,400)

Alvarez holds a .239 ISO vs. LHP this season and he's a top value at his salary tonight. He hasn't hit a bomb in 10 games, but he had a stretch with six homers over nine games prior to that. He's a monster who can win you a slate, and opposing pitcher Suarez isn't good enough to hold this 'Stros lineup down very long.

Joey Gallo - OF, NYY vs. NYM ($2,700)

Gallo has been a strikeout machine and just simply not very good since joining the Yanks, but this is definitely a spot to give him a look at such a low salary. Opposing pitcher Taijuan Walker holds a weak 4.46 xFIP and a 1.53 HR/9 as he has fallen all the way back down to earth after a hot first half.

Kyle Tucker - OF, HOU vs. LAA ($3,200)

Apparently, I'm loving the Astros tonight. Tucker has been scorching hot with a .414 AVG and 1.312 OPS in the month of September after posting a .940 OPS in August. His Statcast metrics point to continued excellence at the plate, and his matchup against Suarez isn't one to fear.

Others: Max Kepler (vs. KCR), Michael Brantley (vs. LAA), Joc Pederson (vs. MIA), Jarred Kelenic (vs. ARI)
