FanDuel DFS - MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers, and Advice for 9/16/2015

What's up RotoBallers. Welcome to another edition of my FanDuel analysis for DFS contests. No early games on the slate so there are tons of options to choose from. The plan today is to invest at pitcher and find some value bats, as you'll see below.

My goal as always is to help you find matchups for your DFS lineups to help you win on FanDuel. The lineup picks I recommend below are based on individual player stats, trends and their DFS pricing on FanDuel. Good luck tonight RotoBallers!

Editor’s Note: We have some awesome rest of season MLB DFS Services Premium Lineup Picks deals, that include all of our Premium DFS lineup picks, analysis and also exclusive access to all our other Premium tools, apps and resources. Get MLB DFS Premium and get an edge!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

Houston Astros RHB against Martin Perez (L)

In this critical series pitting two teams vying for the AL West title, the Rangers are sacrificing Martin Perez to the baseball gods to face Astros ace Dallas Keuchel. OK, that might be a little rough to say, but this is an excellent for DFS players to stack. Perez has struggled recently, amassing a 5.64 ERA in his last four starts while going 1-3. His home park hasn't been friendly to him either, where he owns a 5.82 ERA. Perez actually has respectable numbers versus the Astros lifetime (3-1, 2.17 ERA), but I hope that statistics leads other players astray, lowering Astros ownership. I'm targeting Jose Altuve ($3,600) and Carlos Correa ($3,700) if you have the coin Evan Gattis ($2,900), Hank Conger ($2,900), and Chris Carter ($2,400) for the value plays.

Additional Offenses to Consider: Baltimore Orioles RHB vs Henry Owens ; New York Mets RHB vs Adam Conley

DFS Starting Pitcher to Consider for FanDuel

David Price (SP, TOR) - $11,900

Of the top choices tonight (Jake Arrieta, Chris Archer, Dallas Keuchel), David Price is my clear favorite. He's recorded an 11.18 K/9 in his past five starts and gets an Atlanta Braves squad that strikes out 22.1% of the time versus LHP, third worst in all of baseball. Factor in that the Blue Jays lost last night, and I expect Price to lead the rebound tonight. Buy, buy, buy.

Ervin Santana (SP, MIN) - $6,900

If you decide to save coin at pitcher it better be in a tourney format, and if so, Ervin Santana is a nice target. Santana has now recorded at least seven innings and two or fewer runs in his past three games, accumulating 27 strikeouts in that span. He faces a Tigers team that is struggling at the plate and whose two best hitters, Miguel Cabrera and J.D. Martinez, are 2-for-16 lifetime versus him. The Tigers are likely to limit Daniel Norris to 50-60 pitches today, which will allow the Twins to feast on the Tigers porous bullpen and increase Santana's chances for those four precious points.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Yadier Molina (C, STL) - $2,200

Molina has been pedestrian at the plate recently, but if you need to save coin Molina is at the minimum and is 8-for-25 (.320) lifetime versus Wily Peralta. You're likely better off paying up for an Astros catcher (Gattis or Conger), but you gotta save somewhere if you buy an ace today.

Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI) - $4,200

Goldschmidt has been unable to maintain his MVP performance from the first half which plays into his diminished price. That being said, I love grabbing Goldy here versus Andrew Cashner, a pitcher he loves to face (7-for-20, HR).

Starlin Castro (2B, CHC) - $2,600

We can thank Addison Russell for this position eligibility. Castro has been on fire since the start of September (.393) and loves to face A.J. Burnett (16-for-34).

David Wright (3B, NYM) - $3,500

Going with The Captain here. I expect the Mets to bounce back today and Wright to be a big part of it. Wright owns a .341/.433/.573 slash line versus LHP and faces Adam Conley (L) tonight, owner of a 6.62 road ERA.

Jean Segura (SS, MIL) - $2,700

Going against Jaime Garcia seems crazy given his string of performances, but Segura is on fire in September (.358, four SB) and is 5-for-15 lifetime versus Garcia.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Yoenis Cespedes (OF, NYM) - $5,400

It's unlikely I find Cespedes in my lineups given my desire to invest in pitching, but if you have the funds you'd be wise to give Cespedes another shot after his dud on Tuesday. The last four times Cespedes failed to hit a home run, he smacked one out the next night. Feeling lucky?

Nolan Reimold (OF, BAL) - $2,800

Here's where I'll be finding my plays: in the discount bin. Reimold has been on fire in September (.345, 3 HR) and loves facing lefties, as evident by his .309/.397/.473 slash line.

Angel Pagan (OF, SFG) - $2,700

Pagan is far from a sexy play (read: low ownership), but he's hitting and running to end the year (.333, 3 SB) which makes him a value target for today.

Josh Reddick (OF, OAK) - $2,400

Someone at FanDuel really screwed up leaving Reddick at $2,400 given his offensive outburst last night (2-for-4, 3 R, HR, 4 RBI). The likely high ownership attached to Reddick makes him more of a cash-game play, but I'd rather be on that train than off.
