FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 6/12/15

Tom Bellucco analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 6/12/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

Well, the losing streak continued. I changed my mind from Edinson Volquez to Trevor Bauer at the last minute thanks to the positive weather update. I really wish I hadn’t done that. Oh well. It’s time to win some bankroll back on Friday.

Friday night slates are fun. We do have one afternoon game on Friday, June 12th, and it’s a game at Wrigley field between the Reds and the Cubs. Johnny Cueto and Jason Hammel pitch in the contest, so it’s a perfect game to skip over because I can certainly see a 4-3 finish in which both pitchers get a no-decision. All of the big tournaments will be focused around the 7:05 starts, so let’s focus on those 14 games. Here we go!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS

Pittsburgh Pirates (vs. Kevin Correia, RHP)

There has been a lot of talk lately about the 2015 debut for a guy named Correia. Warning: This is the wrong Correia. Kevin Correia is just another subpar pitcher in the Phillies’ rotation, and the Pirates bats should be heating up heading into the weekend series. The Bucs scored just three runs in three games against poor Brewers pitching, so I expect the runs to be plentiful in this one to make up for a slow start to the week. Lefties Gregory Polanco, Neil Walker and Pedro Alvarez are always good tournament plays against righties, but arguments could very well be made for Andrew McCutchen and Starling Marte as well.

Los Angeles Dodgers (vs. Odrisamer Despaigne)

Odrisamer Despaigne has been thrown around in between the bullpen and the starting rotation both this season and last. He actually has pitched OK for the most part, but the main aspect to focus on here is the fact that Despaigne is right-handed. The Dodgers crush righties better than any other MLB team. The options are endless from Joc Pederson to Adrian Gonzalez to Andre Ethier. Take your pick and hope for a few Vin Scully home run calls.

Honorable Mentions: Washington Nationals, Seattle Mariners

DFS Starting Pitchers to Target for FanDuel

Felix Hernandez (SP, SEA) - $11,800

The choice for safest pitcher here was easier than I though at first glance. Sure, Clayton Kershaw is an option. Sure, Felix Hernandez has had a couple rough outings the past two starts. But have you watched the Astros lately? They have proved time and time again that they are extremely prone to strikeouts. Chris Sale showed us just what can happen when they face a true ace. Hernandez is very expensive, but he should get back on track in a big way on Friday.

Tommy Milone (SP, MIN) - $6,200

Here’s a risky one for ya. Milone is probably not someone who was on your radar for Friday. However, if you want to get gutsy, he is probably the cheapest option that I could see putting up good numbers. For starters, he just came off a gem of an outing striking out seven Sox in 7.2 innings. I also have made a habit of picking on the Rangers lineup against left-handed pitchers. There are a lot of lefties in that order, and Milone could find some success while racking up a good amount of strikeouts.

DFS Infielders to Target for FanDuel

Yasmani Grandal (C, LAD) - $3,000

Grandal has really cooled down since coming back from his recent injury. However, he’s still a very good hitter at the catcher position who can hit moonshots from either side of the plate. He’s better against righties, so he may have a good game against Despaigne.

Billy Butler (1B, OAK) - $2,200

The A’s DH hasn’t been hitting for much average in 2015, but he is slightly better against lefties. He gets a very hittable one in Hector Santiago on Friday. Butler is a risky play due to his tendency to finish a game hitless, but he has plenty of RBI opportunities while hitting in the middle of the A’s lineup.

Joe Panik (2B, SFG) – $3,500

We knew that Panik could hit for average, but he his power stroke has really come on in late May and June. He’s absolutely killing righties from the two spot in the Giants lineup lately, and he’s racking up RBI and runs along the way.

Kyle Seager (3B, SEA) - $3,400

Seager has crazy reverse splits so far this year, and I don’t know why. I’m not sure if this is a sustainable change, but ride it while you can. Brett Oberholtzer is a flat out bad pitcher. Seager may provide a lucky Astros fan with a home run ball on Friday.

Erik Aybar (SS, LAA) - $2,500

I’ve loved using Aybar in recent days thanks to his high OBP and his cheap price. The price may be rising a tad, but he should still be able to find his way on against Jesse Chavez. Not to mention, he has some pretty awesome bats behind him to drive him in.

DFS Outfielders to Target for FanDuel

Bryce Harper (OF, WAS) - $5,500

Harper is my expensive bat of the day. Mike Fiers has had a bit of trouble keeping the ball in the park this year, and Harper is not one to mess around with that. He gets a friendly Miller Park as well. The lefty may be well worth the high price on Friday.

Gregory Polanco (OF, PIT) - $3,000

I’ve already mentioned him above, but Polanco is a great cheaper outfielder for Friday. Manager Clint Hurdle still as the upmost confidence in his bat, and Polanco will look to get back on track against a very hittable righty in Correia. He has stolen base potential too.

Jason Heyward (OF, STL) - $2,900

Heyward has started to hit more and more as of late. He’s still not producing the numbers that the Cards were hoping to see, but he’s getting there. Righty Yordano Ventura is not slouch of a pitcher, but Heyward likes righties. If you want a cheap outfielder to set your lineup apart, Heyward could be your guy.

Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
