FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/11/16): MLB DFS Advice

We've got a split slate scheduled today with six afternoon games and four night games. With that in mind, I suggest digging deep today, especially on the main slate for GPP formats, as it will be essential to have a unique lineup. The most enticing Vegas lines today belong to the following games with the highest over/unders listed - Rockies at Rangers (11), Astros at Twins (9), and Braves at Brewers (9). The heaviest moneyline favorites are the Mets (-260), Pirates (-200), and the Indians (-250). As for park factors, the hitters with the best factors today are the left-handed batters of the Rockies and Rangers, the left-handed batters of the Indians and Angels, and the right-handed batters of the Braves and Brewers.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/11/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Cleveland Indians versus Jhoulys Chacin

The Indians have a very positive matchup today with Jhoulys Chacin on the mound for Los Angeles. For the season, Chacin has been struggling with his control and in limiting base runners (1.47 WHIP) while striking out very few batters. The .452 slugging percentage he's allowed to left-handed batters this season isn't that high, but it helps that he pitches in such a pitcher friendly ballpark. In fact, his ERA is more than a full run higher on the road than compared to his home statistics. I really love the high floor and high ceiling this front order of the Indians lineup brings, with their switch-hitters and strong lefty bats. They're a nice value too. My favorites are Carlos Santana, Jason Kipnis, Francisco Lindor and Tyler Naquin.

Also Consider: Texas Rangers versus Chad Bettis

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Corey Kluber (SP, CLE) - $10,900

Kluber is listed a few hundred dollars more than fellow aces Noah Syndegaard and Jon Lester tonight, but I think he's worth the difference in price. For starters, he faces a pretty weak Angels lineup and does so in a stadium that isn't too kind to right-handed batters - something that the Angels lineup is heavy in. Additionally, he's pitched consistently well of late, exceeding value in each of his last five starts and over the past half-month, he's allowed a hard hit rate of just 21%. That's a pretty remarkable number, especially when compared to Lester at 28% and Syndegaard at 40%.

Also Consider: Jameson Taillon (SP, PIT) - $7,400 (GPP only)

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C)

Jonathan Lucroy (C, TEX) - $3,500

Vegas has listed this game with the highest projected run total of any game, and I'm expecting a lot of offense from both sides. Lucroy has a hot bat right now, is listed fairly cheap (all things considered), and sports very strong splits against right-handed pitching with his .380 wOBA and .210 ISO.

Also Consider: Drew Butera (C, KCR) - $2,600

First Base (1B)

Anthony Rizzo (1B, CHC) - $4,200

The NL MVP candidate is having a monster year against right-handed pitching, smack dab in the middle of this potent Cubs lineup. He's a good fastball hitter, and despite Carlos Martinez's talents, he and his .414 wOBa and .291 ISO splits should perform quite well tonight.

Also Consider: Carlos Santana (1B, CLE) - $3,800

Second Base (2B)

Rougned Odor (2B, TEX) - $3,500

Odor's fantasy performances of late have been pretty even keel, but I expect him to outproduce his salary implied value tonight with ease. Matching up with Chad Bettis is one of the more sure-fire ways to get back on track, and Odor has massive power upside with his .224 ISO split.

Also Consider: Jason Kipnis (2B, CLE) - $3,800

Shortstop (SS)

Jordy Mercer (SS, PIT) - $2,600

The shortstop group is a little underwhelming tonight, so I'm approaching this position how I often approach catchers - try to find value and power upside. Tonight, that exists in the form of Mercer, who is a southpaw killer. He's a great value and owns a .393 wOBA and .505 slugging percentage split.

Also Consider: Carlos Correa (SS, HOU) - $3,900

Third Base (3B)

Manny Machado (3B, BAL) - $4,300

I like Machado in tournament formats today not only for his awesome splits, but due to the fact there is nearly always a bias to picking players on the East coast. Oakland is certainly a pitcher's park, but Machado is hot right now, has massive power and can most certainly muscle the ball out of the stadium - especially against aguy like Andrew Triggs.

Also Consider: Pedro Alvarez (3B, BAL) - $3,600

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

David Dahl (OF, COL) - $3,200

Dahl is the nicest value of the outfielders I am rolling with today. He has a nice matchup against a subpar pitcher in a great stadium for hitters. His splits are also very impressive - .440 wOBA and a .304 ISO.

Jay Bruce (OF, NYM) - $3,900

Bruce is hitting third tonight and has a great matchup against the likes of Braden Shipley. His .275 ISO and .516 slugging percentage splits are among the best of all the outfielders playing Thursday.

Adam Jones (OF, BAL) - $3,800

Jones has been swinging it well lately and he's a guy that not only has great value based on his position in the lineup, but also has a massive split differential. His numbers when facing right-handed pitching - as he is today - are far batter than his numbers against southpaws.
