FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/23/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome to another fun week of FanDuel. There are twelve games on the slate but not all are available on FanDuel. If you want action on Game 1 of the Indians-White Sox doubleheader, you need to pick the Early Only games (four games total) while Game 2 is included in the Main Slate (10 games total).

It's Kershaw Day which means value hitters will be the rage today, not to mention the other strong pitching options on the docket.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/23/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Tampa Bay Rays versus Wei-Yin Chen

Chen has faced the Rays more than any team in his career and put up modest numbers (3.85). Good, but not solid for DFS purposes. The Rays are one of the best teams in baseball versus lefties, hitting an MLB-best .272 versus them. I expect a shootout in Miami.

Texas Rangers versus Nick Tropeano

The Rangers have been one of the better offenses at home, posting a .272 average (5th) and 112 runs (4th). Tropeano's 3.30 ERA looks shiny, but the 4.72 FIP indicates Tropeano has been the beneficiary of some fortunate defense. He's allowed a .519 SLG on the road and this is one of the more offensive-friendly parks in baseball. Both lefties and righties are in play here.

Also Consider: Kansas City Royals versus Ricky Nolasco

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Clayton Kershaw (SP, LAD) - $13,100

It's Kershaw Day, which means he's always a viable option, regardless of price. He has six straight games with 10+ strikeouts and faces a Reds lineup that's below-average versus LHP. Of course, this is no ordinary lefty. Look for Kershaw to make it seven straight tonight.

Rich Hill (SP, SEA) - $9,600

Hill has a 2.54 ERA through nine starts and gets a Mariners team that hates lefties; their .227 AVG and .644 OPS versus LHP are easily the worst in baseball. Hill is a solid tourney play.

Ian Kennedy (SP, KC) - $8,400

Kennedy continues to impress, posting a 3.24 ERA and a 9.0 K/9. The Twins held scoreless in their first outing this year. The Twins also strike out 22.4% of the time versus righties, third-worst in baseball.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C)

Wilson Ramos (C, WAS) - $3,200

Ramos continues to impress, posting a .347 average. He's had double digit outings in four of his past five games. Given the lack of impressive options at catcher, it's worth paying for the bull.

First Base (1B)

Albert Pujols (1B, LAA) -$3,500

Pujols has started to come alive lately, averaging over 11 points in his past five games. He has three HR in his career versus Tropeano for you BvP truthers.

Also Consider: Ryan Howard (1B, PHI) - $2,300

Second Base (2B)

Jason Kipnis (2B, CLE) - $3,600

Kipnis has crushed right-handers so far, batting .300 with 5 HR. My only concern is whether he'll play the second leg of the double header. That risk should make his ownership reasonable, turning this into a solid play.

Also Consider: Howie Kendrick (2B, LAD) - $2,800

Shortstop (SS)

Alcides Escobar (SS, CHC) - $3,000

Opponent Ricky Nolasco has been awful in May (6.65 ERA) and Escobar is batting .364 in 16 AB versus him.

Also Consider: Francisco Lindor (SS, CLE) - $3,900

Third Base (3B)

Todd Frazier (3B, CWS) - $3,800

Frazier is on a bit of a tear, hitting five home runs in the past two weeks. He has 10 of his 12 HR versus right-handers, which is what he'll see tonight with Cody Anderson on the mound.

Also Consider: Justin Turner (3B, LAD) - $2,400

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Giancarlo Stanton (OF, MIA) - $3,400

Will Giancarlo's cold streak ever snap? My vote is today. He's hitting .276 versus lefties, including 2-for-5 versus Matt Moore. At this price tag, it's hard not to grab share.

Steven Souza Jr. (OF, TB) - $3,200

Souza is hitting .300 with a .933 OPS versus left-handers in 2016. In a game I expect to go over the 7.5 mark in Vegas, this is a reasonable price.

Nomar Mazara (OF, TEX) - $2,900

Opposite to Souza, Mazara mashes righties. He has a .315 average and .871 OPS versus RHP plus a .308 average at home. With Shin-Soo Choo hurt again, Mazara will continue to see consistent playing time.

Also Consider: Billy Burns (OF, OAK) - $3,100 and Desmond Jennings (OF, TB) - $2,500
