ANALYSIS: After spending the last few seasons in Atlanta, Eddie Rosario signed with the Washington Nationals in March. The 2021 NLCS MVP got off to a slow start (to put it mildly), going 6-for-70 (.086) with a .135 wOBA and a -19 wRC+ over his first 24 games. The Nationals stuck with the 32-year-old anyway, and their patience has begun to pay off. Over the last nine games, Rosario has at least one hit in each, going 12-for-31 (.387) with two doubles, four home runs, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, a BB:K of 6:9, a wOBA of .553, and a wRC+ of 264.

His season-long numbers still look pretty awful despite the hot stretch, which probably scares most managers off, but with a HardHit% of 45.3% on the season (72nd percentile) and an ultra-low BABIP of .188 (career .296, 2024 MLB avg. is .288), it seems there still room for this hot streak to run. Rosario also has six stolen bases thus far, and with a career-high of 11, he's on pace to easily eclipse that number.
One thing that could give managers some pause is that the left-handed hitter will sit against LHP, so they need to have another batter on the ready in the event he sits on a particular day. However, his career batting average splits against LHP and RHP are nearly identical (.267 vs. .266), so if his bat stays hot enough, the Nationals could find a way to keep him in the lineup regardless. Rosario is available in 66% of Yahoo leagues for managers in need of a hot bat.
