NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 2/10/24

We have finally made it! The 2023-2024 season is halfway complete and the All-Star festivities have come and gone! We are now entering the final stretch with many teams having an idea of where they stand for the rest of the season. This will also open up the slew of trades to be made, with Calgary and Montreal kicking things off. The race to the Stanley Cup is heating up!

Tonight we have a seven-game slate and one team playing on a back-to-back, Tampa Bay. The currently live top-three-highest implied team totals are Tampa Bay with 3.8, Carolina with 3.7, and Toronto with 3.5. I will do my best to guide you through this seven-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Stuart Skinner - DK $7.8K || FD $8.1K

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

Is the opposition's offense in bad form? Check. Goalie’s defense in good form? Check. Goalie in good form? Check. All signs point to Skinner having a fantastic performance at home against the Kings tonight. The Kings are 1-4 in their last five games. In Skinner's last five starts, he has a 4-1 record with a 1.41 Goals Against Average and a 0.948 Save Percentage. He is also the seventh-best goalie in Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60 in every team’s last 10 respective games. As the second-best value goalie on the slate with the Kings tied as the top value team in Shots Per Goal Per 60, Skinner is set up for success.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Ersson (DK $7.5K || FD $7.8K)
  • Jarry (DK $7.4K || FD $7.3K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

John Tavares - DK $6.6K || FD $7K

Opponent - Ottawa Senators

Tavares has been on fire since the return from the All-Star break. In the two games since, he has two goals, three assists, seven shots, and two blocked shots. In the five games before the break, he had one goal, 23 shots, and three blocked shots. The Senators are playing much better defensively; however, they remain in the bottom three in Goals Against Per 60. With the Leafs catching fire and the Senators unable to keep pucks out of the net, expect the veteran center to maintain value.

Dmitri Voronkov - DK $3.8K || FD $4.8K

Opponent - Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay is a shell of their former selves, relying on nothing but luck to win games. All meaningful metrics have declined rapidly, excluding Goals For Per 60 in their last 10 games. This only proves that the goalies they have played against have been bad, allowing fewer quality shots to go in.

The complete opposite can be said about their defense. Despite the injuries, Tampa Bay has been much better than expected but continues to get poor goaltending. In their last 10 away games at even strength, the Lightning have been outscored 12 to 24. With many pay up spots on the slate, Voronkov offers the ideal pay down spot with potential upside. Over his last five games, he has three goals, 11 shots, and seven blocked shots.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Crosby (DK $8K || FD $9K)
  • Bjugstad (DK $4.3K || FD $5.6K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Andrei Svechnikov - DK $6K || FD $7K

Opponent - New Jersey Devils

Andrei Svechnikov is nothing but a speculative play at this point. At the time of writing, it is unknown if the winger will finally return to the lineup after a lengthy injury. If he does, he will skate into an ideal matchup at home against the Devils, who just conceded five goals to the Calgary Flames on Thursday. Furthermore, New Jersey’s defense has seen a big dip in their performance in their last 10 games (excluding splits), and their goalies cannot make a save if their life depended on it. With linemates Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen hitting strides, Svechnikov will have a plethora of opportunities to maintain value.

Brandon Hagel - DK $5.1K || FD $6.5K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Columbus has improved their defensive play since the return of Zach Werenski; however, they still remain in the bottom 10 in both Scoring Chances Against and Goals Against Per 60. What many do not know is that Brandon Hagel is flying under the radar despite a dominant run of form. Throughout his last five games, he has five goals, two assists, 15 shots, and three blocked shots and it gets even better.

Hagel is playing on a line with Nick Paul and Anthony Cirelli, two playmakers at heart. That leaves Hagel with the bulk of the shot volume on the second line. In a positive matchup with form in hand and two playmakers ready to set him up, Hagel could be one of the top value plays of the slate.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Giroux (DK $5.4K || FD $6.7K)
  • Johnson (DK $3K || FD $4K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Sean Durzi - DK $5.2K || FD $6.8K

Opponent - Nashville Predators

Sean Durzi is one of the most consistent defenders on the slate tonight. Over his most recent five games, he has one goal, six shots, and 13 blocked shots. The Predators are starting to gain form at home, although it is still not up to par. With Durzi just missing a Blocked Shots Bonus on DraftKings over the aforementioned window, he is almost guaranteed to maintain value at a minimum.

Darren Raddysh - DK $3.1K || FD $4K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Darren Raddysh is as inconsistent as his brother; however, he has a much better opportunity at surpassing value game in and game out. Raddysh has one goal, three assists, seven shots, and two blocked shots in his last five games. In a matchup against Columbus with one of the higher goal totals on the slate, Raddysh has a premium spot to exceed value.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Karlsson (DK $5.1K || FD $6K)
  • Skjei (DK $4.2K || FD $5.6K)
