DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/22/21): NBA DFS Lineups

Karl-Anthony Towns - NBA DFS Lineup Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on March 22, 2021. Eric Moody provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The NBA schedule has eight games on the main slate for Monday night. Four have an implied point total of 240 or more. One game you'll definitely want exposure is the Charlotte Hornets versus the San Antonio Spurs. Here are three tips on how to attack the overall slate when assembling lineups.

First of all, it’s important to look at the pace and Vegas lines. Second, it’s also useful to understand the number of fantasy points a team gives up to a specific position. The final tip is to identify value plays that are critical on a slate of any size. You don’t have to necessarily go for the cheapest value, but you want to identify players who have a high floor and a high ceiling.

This article will supply you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for the DraftKings on 3/22/21. You can also check out today’s FanDuel lineup picks. It’s also important to monitor injury news as a result of COVID-19 as the slate can completely change before line-up lock. Without further ado, let’s dive into the picks!

DraftKings DFS Guards

Zach LaVine - SG, CHI vs UTA ($8,400)
LaVine only scored 18 points (6-16 FG), accumulated three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 33 minutes last night against the Pistons. This was disappointing considering he scored 40, 29, and 32 points over the last three games shooting 60.7% from the floor. LaVine's limited statistical contributions in other aspects of the game couldn't salvage a decent fantasy outing. This was his second-lowest DraftKings fantasy points output since December 26th. LaVine has a Usage Rate of 30% this season. This metric is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor. LaVine is averaging 27 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists for the month of March. He has the highest ceiling of any guards on the main slate.

Collin Sexton - PG/SG, CLE vs SAC ($7,100)
Sexton produced 36 points, amassed four assists, three rebounds, and two steals across 39 minutes last night against the Raptors. He's averaged 26.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1,4 steals, and 38 minutes per game over his last 16 games. Sexton faces a Kings team that has allowed the fourth-most DraftKings fantasy points per game to point guards.

Jrue Holiday - PG, MIL vs IND ($6,800)

Holiday scored 21 points, garnered five rebounds, three assists, and a block in 34 minutes last Saturday against the Spurs. He's averaged 16 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game since the All-Star break. Holiday can provide DFS players with contributions in multiple statistical areas. He's a nice value on tonight's slate a Pacers team that has allowed the 13th most DraftKings fantasy points per game to point guards.

Bonus Guards: Paul George ($8,200), Fred VanVleet ($7,600), Darius Garland ($6,600), Ricky Rubio ($6,200)

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Kawhi Leonard - SF, LAC vs ATL ($8,900)
Leonard recorded 17 points, four assists, four steals, and three rebounds last Saturday against the Hornets. He has a Usage Rate of 29.6% this season but took a back seat to teammate Paul George against Charlotte. Leonard has the 10th highest Player Efficiency Rating. This metric sums up all a player's positive accomplishments, subtracts the negative accomplishments, and returns a per-minute rating of a player's performance. Leonard has the highest ceiling of any forward on the slate.

Pascal Siakam - PF/C, TOR vs HOU ($7,500)

Siakam scored nine points, stockpiled three rebounds, two assists, and two steals last night against the Cavaliers in 25 minutes. He's still working his way back to form after being out of the lineup for nearly a month due to the NBA's COVID-19 protocols. Siakam's Usage Rate this season has been 25.2%. He has a favorable matchup against a Houston team that has allowed the fifth-most DraftKings fantasy points per game.

Thaddeus Young - PF/C, CHI vs UTA ($6,500)

Young only scored eight points, accumulated eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals over 21 minutes yesterday against the Pistons. He's averaged 13.2 points, eight rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in the month of March. Prior to this game, Young had 13 consecutive games with 10 or more points. He's able to contribute in multiple statistical areas which helps his fantasy ceiling. Young has scored 30 or more DraftKings fantasy points in four consecutive games. He's one of my favorite values on tonight's slate.

Bonus Forwards: Khris Middleton ($7,600), Gordon Hayward ($7,400), Norman Powell ($7,100), Lauri Markkanen ($5,500),

DraftKings DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns - C, MIN vs OKC ($9,500)

Towns finished with 24 points, garnered nine rebounds, one assist, and one block in 36 minutes last Friday against the Suns. He has the fifth highest Usage Rate (28%) and the fourth-highest Player Efficiency Rating (27.6) among centers this season. Towns faces a Thunder team that has allowed the seventh-most DraftKings fantasy points per game to centers.

Jarrett Allen - C, CLE vs SAC ($7,600)

Allen scored 17 points, stockpiled 15 rebounds, an assist, and a block in 34 minutes against the Raptors last night. He's averaged 14 points, nearly 12 rebounds, and two blocks over 14 games since taking over for Andre Drummond. Forward Kevin Love is projected to return tonight and will likely be on a minutes restriction. Allen is well-positioned to go boom against a Kings team that has allowed the third-most DraftKings fantasy points to centers.

Bonus Centers: Domantas Sabonis ($9,000), Chris Boucher ($6,100), Brook Lopez ($4,900)
