DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/23/20): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on February 23, 2020. Dan Palyo provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to RotoBaller, your source for all things fantasy sports! After a crazy slate last night that saw a bunch of really important players sit around (like Luka Doncic and Jimmy Butler), we have another really enticing six-game slate tonight on Draftkings that locks at 6:00 P.M

Hopefully, we have the majority of injury news that we need for tonight already. The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to be a major source of value on this slate as both of their young stars, D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns, have already been ruled out. The other team we have to continue to target is the Portland Trailblazers who will be without their star Damian Lillard yet again. The Chicago Bulls continue to be short-handed are a team that has a great matchup today against the Washington Wizards, even if it is their second game in two nights. Other injuries that could have a major impact tonight are Draymond Green (out), Victor Oladipo (questionable), and Marquese Chriss (questionable).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 2/23/20. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Find me on Twitter @ThunderDanDFS where I am usually tweeting about fantasy sports and DFS. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Jordan McLaughlin - PG, MIN @ DEN ($4,300)

As I mentioned in the opener, the T-Wolves will be a major source of value on this slate and McGlaughlin is my favorite of those Minnesota value plays. He should slide into the starting point guard slot for the injured D'Angelo Russell and see a major increase in minutes. In two starts before the Russell trade, McGlaughlin posted 33 and 48 minutes and has shown to be a very productive fantasy player on a per-minute basis. He will be fairly chalky tonight but is an excellent play in all formats. Don't sleep on the other Wolves starters either, I'll mention at least one other Minnesota player in this article but they are all in play tonight.

Will Barton - SG/SF, DEN vs. MIN ($5,400)

Barton is just badly mispriced here for an elite matchup against a young Timberwolves squad that is mediocre at best defensively. The Nuggets will be paced up by Minnesota in this one, which plays into Barton's strengths. He is the de-facto point guard with the second unit in Denver and thrives when he can push the ball up the floor in transition. He's a consistent fantasy contributor who scores, rebounds, and passes giving him a solid floor and an excellent ceiling. He's my favorite Denver player to run back in a game stack of this game.

Zach LaVine -  SG, CHI vs. WAS ($9,100)

LaVine's price is steep, but there is plenty of value to fit him into lineups today and not too many other star players on this slate to pay up for. He and the rest of the Bulls will be paced up in a big way by the Washington Wizards, who also happen to have the worst defensive rating in the NBA. He just went off for 63 DK points in this matchup a few weeks ago and I have him pegged as the top point scorer on this slate. His teammate Coby White (5,200) who I had in yesterday's picks also deserves some consideration.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Eric Paschall - SF/PF, GS vs. NO ($4,400)

Paschall is an elite value on this slate due to Draymond Green sitting out. He should start at power forward and play 30+ minutes in an excellent matchup against the Pelicans. He has shown an excellent shooting touch from the outside this season and is a solid scorer and rebounder. This Pelicans-Warriors game carries a high total, and it's a lot easier for me to locate the best plays on the Warriors side than try to figure out which Pelicans will make value since their production tends to get spread out among their starters since they added Zion Williamson to the lineup.

Brandon Ingram - SF/PF, NO @ GS ($6,900)

So I know I just said I like the Warriors side of this game more, however, Ingram's price is so tempting here under 7k. He was initially really affected by Zion's arrival in a negative way but has since figured out to mesh with him and still be productive. He's working his way back from an injury but is seeing his minutes increase and as long as Golden State can hang around in this game, I expect him to play more normal starters' minutes tonight (30 or more). This Warriors defense is horrendous and I expect the Pelicans to pile up a lot of points in this one, with Ingram having the best point-per-dollar upside at this price than the more expensive Jrue Holiday, Lonzo Ball, and Zion Williamson.

Naz Reid - SF/PF, LAC @ BOS ($5,500)

Reid was one of my favorite picks in my Friday column for FanDuel and he paid off in a big way for 19 points, 9 rebounds, and three steals against Boston. He should draw the start again tonight and it's clear that Minnesota is making sure he gets enough minutes as they view him as a major part of their future going forward. His ability to stretch the floor and knock down perimeter shots while also being a strong rebounder is what makes him a young player that has a bright future in the league. His price went up a little, but he still projects as one of the best values and I would strongly recommend playing him at either the PF or C slot tonight.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Serge Ibaka - C, TOR vs. IND ($6,700)

While you can make a great case for paying up for Hassan Whiteside at the center position, the most I'm likely to spend is 6.7k on Ibaka. He's been a staple of my NBA articles lately and while he's let me down a few times, I simply can't ignore the upside he has while he continues to start at center for the injured Marc Gasol. The matchup is what really interests me as Serge will draw the defense of Myles Turner, who simply can't defend him on the perimeter. Before the break, Serge posted 44 and 40 DK points in back-to-back games against Indiana which shows he has legit 7x potential at his current price. Consider Daniel Gafford (3,500) as a potential punt if you don't want to pay up for Ibaka.
