DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/10/21): NBA DFS Lineups

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on January 10, 2021. Eric Moody provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The NBA schedule has two games on the slate for Sunday. Did you know that only one of them has an implied point total of 225 or more? You won't have many players to choose from, but here are three tips on how to attack it.

First of all, it’s important to look at the pace and Vegas lines. Second, it’s also useful to understand the number of fantasy points a team gives up to a specific position. The final tip is to identify value plays which is critical on a slate of any size. You don’t have to necessarily go for the cheapest value, but you want to identify players who have a high floor and a high ceiling.

This article will supply you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/10/21. You can also check out today’s FanDuel lineup picks. It’s also important to monitor injury news as a result of COVID-19 as the slate can completely change before line-up lock. Without further ado, let’s dive into the picks!

DraftKings DFS Guards

Paul George - SG, LAC vs. CHI ($9,300)

George struggled against the Warriors last Wednesday. He bounced back nicely on Friday against Golden State. George had 25 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and one block. His Usage Rate this season is 29.4%. This metric is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor. George's True Shooting percentage of 68.1% ranks eighth among players who have played 200 or more minutes. This metric is a measure of shooting efficiency that takes into account field goals, 3-point field goals, and free throws. George has the highest ceiling on the slate against a Bulls defense that has allowed the fourth-most DraftKings fantasy points to shooting guards this season. The Clippers and Bulls have an implied point total of 227.6.

Coby White - PG/SG, CHI vs. LAC ($7,300)

White set a season-high in DraftKings fantasy points back on January 6th. He finished with 36 points, seven assists, and three rebounds in 40 minutes against the Kings. White has averaged 36 minutes, 23.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game over the last four games after a slow start to the season. He and the Bulls face a Clippers defense that has allowed the 10th most DraftKings fantasy points to point guards this season.

Derrick Rose - PG, DET vs. UTA ($5,500)

Rose bumped knees last Wednesday with Giannis Antetokounmpo and wasn't able to return. The veteran did return to the fold last Friday against the Suns. Rose only played 19 minutes and scored 14.5 DraftKings points. He has averaged 16.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.3 blocks, and 26.3 minutes per game prior to the last two games.

Bonus Guards: Mike Conley ($6,800), Donovan Mitchell ($8,200), Jordan Clarkson ($5,600)

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Kawhi Leonard - SF, LAC vs. CHI ($9,500)

Leonard had 24 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals against the Warriors on Friday. His Usage Rate this season is 31%. Leonard has averaged 45 DraftKings fantasy points per game this season. I believe he has the highest ceiling of all forwards on the slate.

Jerami Grant - SF/PF, DET vs. UTA ($7,700)

Grant was the Pistons biggest offseason acquisition and he's delivered on the court. He scored 31 points, accumulated 10 rebounds, two assists, and a block in 42 minutes against the Suns on Friday night. Did you know that Grant has scored 22 or more points in eight consecutive games? His Usage Rate this season is 26%. Grant faces a Jazz defense that has allowed the fifth-most DraftKings fantasy points to small forwards.

Patrick Williams - SF/PF, CHI vs. LAC ($4,400)

Williams has settled in as the Bulls starting power forward, but his minutes haven't translated into a monster DraftKings performance. He only has three games with 23 or more DraftKings points. Williams has only averaged 25 minutes, 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game this season. He's still a nice value on the slate and has a ceiling eerily similar to more expensive options. This is an excellent spot for Williams to go boom.

Bonus Forwards: Blake Griffin ($6,400), Thaddeus Young ($4,800), Josh Jackson ($5,000)

DraftKings DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert - C, UTA vs. DET ($8,000)

Gobert scored nine points, accumulated 14 rebounds, one steal, and four blocks against the Bucks last Friday night. He's had six double-doubles this season. Gobert has the ability to contribute in multiple statistical areas and has the highest ceiling of any centers on the slate.

Wendell Carter Jr. - C, CHI vs. LAC ($6,000)

Carter totaled a season-high 23 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 25 minutes against the Lakers last Friday. He's averaged 13 points, eight rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game this season. The Clippers have allowed an average of 18.7 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 4.43 assists to centers this season.

Bonus Centers: Serge Ibaka ($6,100), Mason Plumlee ($5,300)
