DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice - NBA DFS Lineup Picks for 2/21/16

By Keith Allison from Hanover, MD, USA (John Wall, Stephen Curry) [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Demetri highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 2/21/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

The Cavaliers and Thunder square off in a Sunday matinee in one of the days best games. Ten games make up Sunday's stacked card, filled with other intriguing fantasy matchups. The second half of the season is well under way. Who will continue to produce and pick up the slack in the absence of Jimmy Butler and Marc Gasol?

Today's DFS lineup picks feature two of the best players in the NBA, a handful of DraftKings value picks, and some unlikely candidates to post solid fantasy lines. Also, stop by my live NBA DFS Q&A sessions Monday-Thursday, every week at 6 PM EST: NBA DFS Q&A with Demetri.

Check out my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for DraftKings, 2/21/16.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Damian Lillard (vs UTA - $9,600)

It might be time to stay out of Damian Lillard's way for a while. After getting snubbed of a well-deserved all-star selection, Lillard stormed into the second half of the season and dropped 51 points, including seven assists and six steals, against the nearly unbeatable Golden State Warriors.

Even before the break, Lillard posted two consecutive 30-plus scoring performances and has once again found his stroke and confidence from behind the arc. Lillard has attempted at least ten from downtown in his last three games, while drilling nine of 12 against the defending champions. Lillard makes for a great tournament play.

Jordan Clarkson (at CHI - $5,300)

Kobe Bryant isn't expected to miss much time, considering there was no fracture revealed after dislocating his finger, however, we can only imagine that the veteran, playing in his final season, will either be in pain or limited against the Bulls.

This is a perfect opportunity for Jordan Clarkson, especially with the absence of Jimmy Butler on the other end of the court, to step up and contribute in several areas. Clarkson has scored 20 or more in three of four contests, while posting double-digit scoring in 24 straight games; impressive and valuable for his price.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

J.R. Smith (at OKC - $5,300)

You have to fight fire with fire. Granted, J.R. Smith has not been on the same continent as Russell Westbrook, ever, but the only way to tame the Tasmanian-Devil point guard is by shooting on the other end of the court, and shooting often. J.R. has never had a problem doing that his whole career.

Smith is coming off two very forgettable performances, but he only attempted nine field goals in each. Smith is most affective when he does, in fact, shoot often from the field and from long range, and will likely do so in a likely high-scoring, fast-paced, back-and-forth battle with one of the Western Conference's best teams.

Jonathon Simmons (at PHO - $3,100)

With Manu Ginobili expected to miss a month of action, and the likeliness of a Spurs blowout against the Phoenix Suns, Jonathon Simmons will surely see plenty of the floor playing behind an underwhelming Danny Green. Although difficult to trust, Simmons is a top value play on Sunday and sprinkles enough stats into each category to reach and exceed projection.

With the exception of Ginobili's average yet consistent production this season, the depth and play at the two-spot has been one of the few disappointments for the Spurs this season. Simmons should see around 20 minutes and will free up plenty of cap space.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Kevin Durant (vs CLE - $10,000)

Kevin Durant has been on an absolute tear, and there haven't been many hotter than him. Despite his high price tag, it's been nearly impossible to stay away from him in Daily Fantasy. Durant has scored 20-plus points in 41 straight games played, including 13 of over 30 in that span as well. Unheard of.

He has also generously contributed to every other category consistently and heads into another likely battle against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The last time these two teams faced, the Cavs edged the Thunder by four in a nail-biter. KD, who scored 25 points that night, will want his revenge as Cleveland visits the hostile and loud Chesapeake Energy Arena.

LeBron James (at OKC - $9,700)

I've decided to go heavy at the small forward position, mainly because I believe, despite the likeliness of them being pinned against each other, both Durant and Lebron will produce big numbers on Sunday. In fact, I think being pinned up against each other will bring out the best in both.

Obviously it will be difficult to afford KD and The King together, but it should be known, again, how appealing this matchup is. Lebron has been a near triple-double threat sporadically throughout his entire career, and more so of late. Putting the ball in the basketball has never been an issue for Lebron as he has scored over 20 points in 13 straight games. When Cleveland hosted the Thunder back in the middle of December, Lebron dropped 33 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

JaMychal Green (at TOR - $4,000)

With Marc Gasol set to miss the rest of the season, it was pretty clear that Zach Randolph would take over similar center-duties, considering backup's Chris Andersen and Brandan Wright aren't exactly too threatening. That seemingly opened an opportunity at the power forward position, an opportunity recently seized by JaMychal Green.

Green has had two straight solid fantasy performances. The first: 13 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal against the Brooklyn Nets. The second and better of the two: nine points, 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and two steals. The Grizzlies face the first place Toronto Raptors in a game that should be close.

Myles Turner (at ORL - $5,900)

It's hard not to like a guy who picks up six blocks in one game. In general, it's been difficult to stay away from Turner as well, specifically because of his price and because of how he's performed since the middle of January.

He has scored in double-digits in 13 of 15 games since January 15th, while being held without a block in only three games in that span. He has been flirting with around and over 30 minutes a night, and he gets a pretty decent matchup against the Orlando Magic.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Pau Gasol (vs LAL - $8,500)

It would be wise to ride Pau heavy until Jimmy Buckets returns. Pau is a consistent double-double threat while his price is perfectly affordable. Pau has posted three double-doubles in his last four contests, and should make it four out of five against a Los Angeles Lakers team that doesn't play defense too well either.

Disregarding the potential trade rumors that surrounded the talented center around the trade deadline, Pau scored 18 points, grabbed 11 boards, and dished out nine assists against the Toronto Raptors in Chicago's first second half game.
