DraftKings AUSFL DFS Lineup Picks (7/11/20): Daily Fantasy AUSFL Advice

Chris Wassel's top AUSFL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 7/11/20. Expert daily Aussie Football advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

Saturday features a solid four-game main slate including Essendon and North Melbourne and opened by Fremantle and St. Kilda. Can St. Kilda's midfielders spark the attack like they did last week? That will be something to keep an eye on.

Remember, when looking around for plays, keep in mind your positions. Here is the breakdown -- two forwards (goal scorers), four midfielders (two-way players), two defenders, and a Ruck. What is a Ruck? The Ruck is the last line of defense typically. He is that player who jumps for the ball at stoppages and center bounces. He is more vital than most think in scoring.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy Australian Football lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/11/20. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Christian Petracca - MEL vs GCS (DK - $7,400)

Petracca is a disposals machine. He tallied 14 of his 27 in the first term alone last week. Yes, Melbourne is an awful team on the pitch but this forward steals the individual show and numbers. Only some unusually off kicking last week kept him from scoring even more points. Gold Coast is 17th in points allowed to forwards. This appears to be a borderline chalky pick but Melbourne is so bad, most may look elsewhere anyway.

Hugh Greenwood - GCS vs MEL (DK - $5,800)

The forward gets his chances and has a big one this week against one of the worst defenses in the premiership. Greenwood racked up 11 tackles and 21 disposals last week in an ugly loss to Geelong. When two bad teams face each other, the lean is often toward offense. With the injury to Matthew Rowell, Greenwood has a golden opportunity to score a ton of points at a cheap price in Week 6.

Also, Consider:

  • Oscar Allen (WCE) is my deep sleeper. He had three goals last week in an increased role.
  • Jy Simpkin (NOR) has a nice matchup and always is great on peripherals even if he does not score goals.

DFS Midfielders to Consider

Jack Steele - STK vs FRE (DK - $7,800)

The idea is that several St. Kilda midfielders could have a field day against a Fremantle defense that allows the third most DFS points to midfielders since the resumption. Steele picked up the pace last week with a half dozen marks and double digit kicks and handballs. There is little reason to believe he cannot do that again this week and next week as well. The speed alone against a slow Fremantle middle is more than enough reason to stack a couple St. Kilda players in this spot.

Brandon Ellis - GCS vs MEL (DK - $6,400)

For a slightly cheaper option that is steady, Ellis is nothing but consistent. While he does not dominate categories like Steele can, he has a nice matchup against Melbourne in Week 6. In his four matches, he has never scored below 69 points so a clunker is not likely. His salary has not risen like some had expected either. He only went up from $5,900 to $6,400 in the last week. Some thought he may inch very close to $7,000. That makes him still a cheaper play.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Michael Hibberd - GCS vs MEL (DK - $5,500)

This is a solid option on this main slate with some high-priced players in not so good situations. Hibberd expects to see plenty of opportunities against a Melbourne side that gives up lots of possession. Throw out the ugly game against Geelong and Hibberd's numbers look grandiose. He had 11 kicks and 14 handballs alone last week. The expectation is he could do that well again later tonight.

Nick Coffield - STK vs FRE (DK - $5,200)

Simply, Coffield can get the job done with double digit kicks in each of the last three weeks. His marks are solid as well (including nine last week). Fremantle should generate some chances which should give Coffield and company a chance to make some transitions. The only somewhat concern may be handballs but if the defender can come close to double digits in kicks and marks again, then that is a moot point.

DFS Ruck to Consider

Todd Goldstein - NOR vs ESS  (DK - $8,300)

Goldstein anchors the ruck position like few big men in the premiership. He is $1,200 less expensive when compared to Max Gawn. The North Melbourne player had 31 hit-outs last week in defeat. Essendon will come in waves as well and Goldstein is one of those few players who can withstand that and get his points. With 100+ fantasy points in each of the last three weeks, expectations are again high later tonight.

  • The other good Ruck may just be Rowan Marshall of St. Kilda at just $6,900. His matchup against Fremantle is a solid one and Marshall has improved every single week. He has averaged a goal a game but also has 47 hit-outs over his previous two matches.
