DFS Studs: Our Best DFS Lineup Picks for Fantasy Football (Week 17)

Each week here at RotoBaller, we provide the subscribers of our DFS Lineup Picks of the Week Newsletter with some of the highest quality advice for salary cap fantasy football for DFS weekly league sites.  We also have lots of great DFS analysis weekly, so be sure to check back.

Looking for An Edge?

By Pantherfan11 [GFDL (http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html) or CC-BY-SA-3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)], via Wikimedia CommonsIf you play salary cap leagues on any of the leading DFS sites, then our expert picks can give you the edge you need to win. Each week we analyze the player matchups, and the associated pricing across the sites to identify the sleepers and value picks to put together a winning lineup. With each newsletter, you will receive our well-researched weekly picks for each position, with both a “Strong Play” and a “Value Play”, and we will also include two or three budget buster tournament plays for each position. All in all, you will be receiving a minimum of 12 of our expertly hand-picked recommendations for your gaming pleasure during the regular NFL season!

We’ve reprinted some of RotoBaller’s lineup picks from last week’s subscribers-only exclusive newsletter to give you an idea of the DFS analysis that we put forward each and every week. As you can see below, our experts had some sweet recommendations for Week 17, so hopefully you got in on the action! And if not, no worries, there’s still plenty of time for the Wild Card round through the championship rounds.

A Recap of Some DFS Lineup Picks from Week 17

QB - Cam Newton
FanDuel $8,300, DraftKings $7,600

He's the dude that we love to hate, and then feel bad for, and then kinda go back to hating on again. Emotional  Cam Newton roller coasters aside, this man has broken bones in his back and still performing like an ace quarterback.

Cam gets a chance to win the division in Week 17 versus the rival Falcons, so you know he's motivated. Atlanta is allowing an average of 17.68 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks while Cam has put up 58.68 points over his past 2 contests.

We love this matchup as our strong value play for Week 17 if you are bypassing the risky aces that may sit for half of the game (Andrew LuckAaron RodgersTom Brady).

Result: 435 passing yards, 2 TD, 2 INT - BULLSEYE

QB - Eli Manning
FanDuel $8,200, DraftKings $7,100

Let's finish strong with our favorite undervalued DFS option for Week 17. Whether you are going for the glory in a large field tournament or just grinding out a cash game, the New York Giants are in for a prime matchup versus the Eagles and your boy Eli is hopefully in for another big day.

The Book of Eli has put up a total of 49.34 fantasy points in the past 2 contests and shows no signs of slowing down against the Eagles defense that is 4th worst in the league versus fantasy quarterbacks; allowing 19.70 point per game on average. Don't be afraid to run out this Jersey boy in Week 17 and head into the offseason with a strong finish the 2014 NFL DFS season.

Result: 429 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT - BULLSEYE

RB (Value) - Matt Asiata
FanDuel $6,400, DraftKings $5,000

In what seems to be a consistently undervalued DFS play, this touchdown dependant running back has filled in nicely during the extended absence of franchise running back Adrian Peterson. Matt Asiata has become the darling of the coaching staff and has shown very sure hands out of the backfield, with a knack for getting into the end zone.

We especially love this plodding specialist in Week 17 versus a Bears defense that has given up an average of 19.85 fantasy points per game to running backs and has allowed 12 rushing touchdowns in 15 contests. Get him into your DFS mix as an RB2, but we recommend leaving him reserved for the larger tournaments where he will surely be owned by a much lower percentage and comes into play as a contrarian pick.

Result: 2 reception, 17 receiving yards, 91 rushing yards - HIT

Delanie Walker
FanDuel $5,200, DraftKings $4,400

Delanie Walker started off the year on fire and we think there is a good chance that he'll finish with a strong performance versus a Colts defense that is allowing a whopping 10.07 fantasy points per contest to opposing tight ends.

That being good for 5th worst in the league, we are hopeful that the former 49ers great gets 5-7 catches and hopefully an end zone target or two. Use him as a strong value play sleeper in either tournaments or cash games.

Result: 7 receptions, 43 receiving yards - HIT

New Orleans Saints
FanDuel $4,500, DraftKings $2,400

New Orleans may literally be the bottom of the barrel option on most DFS sites due to their horrible propensity to get blown out, but they have the ability to put up a nice game from time to time and we think that Week 17 is the perfect matchup to trot them out.

The Saints travel to Tampa Bay to take on the putrid Buccaneers offense that is allowing opposing defenses to score an average of 11.27 fantasy points per game against them. We are looking to them as a fantastic punt play if you need a budget busting defense for a large field tournament.

Conversely if you need a top scoring bunch for Week 17 that is guaranteed to deliver on the investment, then go with the overpriced Houston Texans who take on the NFL's worst team versus fantasy defenses, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Good luck in your pursuit of a championship and some extra holiday season spending cash in our final Week 17 of DFS action! Let's bring home the cheddar, gouda and mozzarella so we can party like it's 1999 on New Year's Eve!

Result: 8 fantasty points  - HIT
