BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 58% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I shouldn't be writing about Derek Carr because Derek Carr is rostered in more than half of Yahoo fantasy leagues. But in my favor, I have to say that I expect a lot of fantasy GMs (mostly those streaming him) to drop Carr after this past Sunday's dud, making him a much more available asset going forward than he is at the time of this writing.
I know putting up a 1.6-FP performance is not going to convince you of adding/streaming Carr for the home stretch of the season and the fantasy playoffs, but I don't think you should focus on that game alone too much. Sure, it was Atlanta, and sure, it was the second-worst game by a quarterback in 2020 while attempting at least 34 passes (Jake Luton was worse last week). But consider Carr's full sheet of work before jumping to rushed conclusions.
Carr has finished with 14+ FP in 8 of his 11 games played this season, and he has done that while playing for a team and offense pretty much barren of talent other than TE Darren Waller. Carr has finished all of his games as a QB2 except for Week 12's, and he also has three QB1 finishes through the year. Excluding this past Sunday, his performances have him ranked as the QB16 on the year, a rather nice play in 2QB leagues and spot streaming option in deeper, one-QB formats.
The Raiders only face a top-20 defense against fantasy QBs in the last four fantasy football games of the year including W16. They face the 29th, 3rd, 21st, and 16th-best defenses at that next, and that means they have three bottom-half matchups ahead. Considering adding/playing Carr for the last games of the year. He will most probably pay off.
