DeMario Douglas fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 9 (2024). Should you start or sit DeMario Douglas for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start If Drake Maye Plays, Sit If Not
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX If Maye Plays, WR5 If Not
ANALYSIS: New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas is worth stashing on benches and shouldn't be dropped. If the rookie quarterback Maye (concussion) is able to clear protocol and play on Sunday, Douglas is worth starting. If backup Jacoby Brissett is forced to fill in, "Pop" should be left on the bench.

Maye is the better quarterback of the two by far, and No. 3 is his favorite target. When the vet is under center, Pop becomes a ghost in most games, and has only had one productive game with him. It's a frustrating situation, but at least it's not difficult to know when is best to start and sit this receiver.
Of course, it's possible for them to have a connection, but it's a risk that might not be worth taking because the floor is so low. New England may also opt for a more run-heavy game plan if they can't get the passing game going. In addition, Brissett has failed to reach 200 passing yards in any of his games this year.
Fantasy managers should stay updated on the quarterback injury decision and make their start/sit decision for Pop based on that.
